After decades working as a cattle trader throughout Atlantic Canada, Curtis Moxsom saw the need for a family-run abattoir in the Shubenacadie area.  He purchased an existing abattoir that had been closed for some time and found it required extensive renovations and completely new environmental and food safety permits.

Rural Roots was able to attend the site quickly and work hand-in-hand with the Curtmar team and the provincial inspectors to complete the renovations to the structure and modifications to the waste treatment system that were needed to become compliant.
